Cyberpunk 2077 quietly adds free Witcher 3 gear in surprise update

Cyberpunk 2077’s latest update has quietly added a collection of free Witcher-themed items, letting players explore Night City with a new sword and an outfit inspired by CD Projekt Red’s fantasy series.

To celebrate the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, CD Projekt Red released a new Cyberpunk 2077 update featuring side quests, gear, quality-of-life improvements, cross-platform mod support, and weapon dual-wielding.

While the latter has already been a huge hit amongst Chooms looking to riddle their enemies with bullets, players are now discovering the devs have added even more Witcher items to Night City. 

Cyberpunk 2077 gets new Witcher collab 

The discovery was highlighted by Synth Potato on X, who revealed that the Sihil sword, The Professor’s spectacles, Ursine jacket, Ursine pants, and Boar Carver knife have been added to the game. 

For those who don’t know, the Ursine jacket and pants are based on The Witcher 3’s School of the Bear armor, while The Professor’s spectacles are the glasses Geralt can famously get at the auction in Hearts of Stone. 

As for the Sihil sword, this is a nod to the dwarven swords from The Witcher universe, and the Boar Carver is reminiscent of Geralt’s butchering knife that he famously uses to claim trophies off slain monsters.

To get the new items, you just need to play the game, and you’ll eventually get a message from a person called Ariadne. She’ll tell you that she has some new clothes for you to check out, and wants V to become a brand ambassador.

Once Ariadne confirms that you’re on board, she’ll arrange a delivery of all the shiny new Witcher 3 items to be sent to V’s apartment in Watson. All you need to do is walk into the apartment and interact with the box to the left of the door.
