KADOKAWA CORPORATION will hold “FR@GMENTS of LoveLive! Sunshine!!,” an exhibition themed around LoveLive! Sunshine!! and featuring 111 illustrators, in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan from Friday, February 19 to Tuesday, March 23, 2027. Tickets will go on sale today through e+ and KKday.
The multimedia school idol project LoveLive! series is built around the theme “A Story We Can Make Come True Together,” following nine high school girls as they become school idols and make their dreams come true.
The second installment, LoveLive! Sunshine!!, centers on a school idol group, “Aqours,” and is set in Uchiura, a real seaside town in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. More than a decade after the TV anime first aired, fans from Japan and abroad still flock to the town on pilgrimages to locations featured in the story.
FR@GMENTS of LoveLive! Sunshine!! extends the series’ pilgrimage sites from Numazu to all of Shizuoka Prefecture through the art of illustration. The exhibition title “FR@GMENTS” is a coined term combining “fragments” with “@,” a symbol used to indicate location. The project brings together 111 illustrators, each with a distinctive artistic voice. In their individual styles, they’ll portray emblematic locations in Numazu, as well as Atami, Kakegawa, Shizuoka, Shimoda, Hamamatsu, Fuji, Fujinomiya and Mishima, with the idols running through each scene full of life and movement. The exhibition also showcases Japan Heritage* sites, certified by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, through illustration.
At the exhibition venue, NUMAZU RAKUUN, visitors can purchase merchandise and an exhibition catalog featuring newly drawn illustrations. Visitors will also receive a tour map introducing the spots depicted in the artwork. In addition, sightseeing buses running in Numazu will be wrapped in illustrations, and a stamp rally will be held at Tokaido Shinkansen stations in Shizuoka Prefecture in collaboration with JR Central’s Oshi-tabi initiative. (Details for the stamp rally and its merchandise will be announced at a later date.)
