Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear Strive, The King of Fighters 15, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6, and Tekken 8 will make up the first eight games.
Surprisingly, Mortal Kombat 1 has come out of hiding for the major after not appearing at another Evo event since 2025. According to some outlets, Mortal Kombat’s popularity in South America might have contributed to its return to the stage.
Noticeably, Invincible Versus, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, and 2XKO are nowhere to be seen on the roster. The first and latter games were released this year, which makes their absence puzzling. 2XKO ended DLC support this year but still has an active and supportive competitive scene keeping it going.
AdvertisementSNK gets two spots at Evo Brazil. The publisher’s popularity would probably have folks speculating about whether we might even see legacy titles from the Neo Geo brand pop up out of nowhere. Samurai Shodown 2019 and The King of Fighters 98, anyone?
There might be more games announced for side tournaments, though Pocket Bravery, the fighting game developed in Brazil by Statera Studio, not making the cut seems questionable. Seeing this game not get its due on home soil might be something worth correcting, but only time will tell.
Evo Brazil will have the usual bells and whistles, such as the freeplay Evo Arcade, Evo Official Store, and PlayStation tournaments. Just to put things into perspective, the major has reportedly broken the Day 1 ticket sales record across all Evo events.
